Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk or buttermilk
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt
  • In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth
  • Add the eggs, mashed bananas, vanilla extract, and milk. Stir until well combined
  • Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Do not overmix
  • Gently fold in the walnuts or chocolate chips, if using
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
  • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
  • Slice and enjoy!

Notes

For extra moist banana bread, use very ripe bananas with brown spots.
For a dairy-free version, replace butter with coconut oil and milk with almond milk
Store at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
